In my new client they are into rental business for vehicles for personal purpose or for organization lease. In this business process one part is after they are having around thousand of car in their yard. This car they gave for rent. Now the customer came to yard office and that car will be sent for rent for few days. In that car few accessories are there like GPS system, sound system, AC remote like around 20 accessories. When that car goes out of yard there is a process to check out the car where the accessories are matched whether they are there are not. There is no pricing related concept in that transaction. And we are using the car as objects. So in this scenario which transaction type we can use for check out process as there is no standard transaction type provided by SAP, kindly suggest me. If some one wants few more details I can provide.

Regards,

Roy.

Hello Roy,

The rental business you described belongs to Service. Service Order/Service Confirmation can be used to handle the whole process. Standard transaction types are SRVO and SRVC.

Cars can be seen as objects/installed base. If you have ECC as back end system you can download the cars as equipment.

An item can be added in the transaction to store the rent time or anything you are intrested in. And if you don't want price, just deactivate it.

In a word, Service can meet the need of rental business for vehicles. You can access more details about Service Order/Service Confirmation in SAP help portal.

Hi Webster,

Thanks a ton for your reply. My doubt is if we use Service Order transaction type and configure Service Order Item category we are not using any Item in Item line. In stead of that we are using iObject in Object assignment block. So what is the relevance of Pricing and Billing in the Item category level.

Again you have mentioned deactivate Pricing. How to do so. Is it from item category level or any other way.

Roy

Hello Roy,

In item category customizing, there is a check box named Pricing-rel.. If it is not checked then the item will not be pricing relevant. As you can see in my screenshot, you can also control the Billing here.

In the Item category Configuration of AGN/ TAN there is an option called Usage Object where there is an option for using Individual Object in addition to Product. what is the relevance of it.

Again in Object master data there is one field for Reference Product. Can you explain the use of reference product as there is no thread of reference product in scn.

Hello Webster,

I have one more requirement. My client business process is like that after 3 years of rental they are selling the used vehicles(iObject) through auction. But we can use IObjects in service transactions only. So is it possible to use the Objects in sales quotation and sales order like products. Or any other transaction type we should use. Suggestion kindly.

Regards,

Roy.

Hello Roy,

In CRM, I am afraid the answer is no and Sales transactions only process Product.

However in ECC, the vehicles are Equipment. I am not sure whether in ECC we have a way to have these equipment saled and suggest you approach ECC experts.
