Duplicating job schedule

A bit of context to set the scene; we are changing data centres and have copied the SAP environment (dev, test and prod) to new kit in the new data centre. We are currently testing this new environment before doing a final DB copy and cutting over.

The hardware is new and improved, we have moved from Red Hat 5 to Red Hat 7 and have updated the kernel from 721 to 722. Other than that, no additional changes have been made. (no service packs or Enhancement packs)

The Issue; dev and test are working fine, full batch running with no problems. However, the new production systems is showing unusual behaviour. Randomly, some jobs (which should only run once in the day) are running up to 10 times with in a few seconds of each other.

In CPS, we can see the job submitted once at the correct time but in SM37, the job is running 10 times?

We cannot find any reason for this or any way to replicate on demand. There is nothing in the logs to show a problem.

We end up with so many jobs, we run out of background processes and the system dies.

Has anyone else ever seen this?
