Error (PRS 00048) - Promotion Management - Manage Dependency

After upgrading to Business Intelligence 4.1 SP07 version 4.2 SP02, when I click on "manage dependencies" in the JOB message appears below.

PS: I renamed the OLAP connections also, but do not know if influence.

Try to create a new APS server hosting the Promotion Management service. Stop and disable the existing APS.

Hi Eduardo,

You dont need to create all APS but only the APS which has "LCM Service" which is responsible for Promotion management.

Coming to the Error part that you are getting it is almost similar to KBA 1779821 - Adding objects to Promotion Job throws error "Failed to get dependencies of the job.(PRS 00048)" 

Resolution is mentioned to clear the derby files from the WAS (Web application server ) :

1. Log onto the application server hosting the Central Management Console as the user in which the application server is running ( Example : Tomcat)

2.  Browse to $TMP or to the user's home directory

3.  Confirm that files can be read and written to this directory

4.  Delete all folders starting with the name Derby

     For example: rm -rf Derby*

5. Note that a Web Application server restart (eg. Apache Tomcat) maybe required after this workflow to ensure that transient data stored

    in Derby database folders within the temp folder is recreated at the next execution of the web application (eg. CMC, Promotion Management etc)

For APS :

The one you have given me is for the JOB SERVER PROPERTIES not APS .

As per the screenshot I can observe LCM Service is present in the APS.core.

Perform below steps :

• Click on New Server.
• Choose Promotion/LCM service
• Add and create a new APS with LCM only start the APS.
• Stop the existing service i.e. APS.Core for testing and make it disabled.

FOR Derby :

As I can observe there are derby files which are present so :

• Stop Tomcat and delete all files which has derby and start the Tomcat.

your error message has a clear text that tells why it fails. If you search for that text - there is a kba that explains how to address it.
Also, if you use The Administrator account - it'll work.

Hi Eduardo,

If you still face same problem the after upgrading BI 4.1 SP6 to BI 4.2 Sp1 , you may create Incident with SAP as we have recently replicated the bug.
