Moving Average Price for Finished Goods valuation

Hi All,

I have a new requirement for which i am not able to get any proper solution hence, requesting your assistance.

Our client is currently following Standard Price for all Finished Goods valuation/Billing. However, a new requirement has come up that. For a particular Depot Plants Finished Goods to be valuated based on Moving Average price. For this we have changes price control to 'V' in the material master but still system is picking Standard price only.

This is need to be affected in COPA reposts also. Please find the screen shot below and advise.

The requirement is to have all the billing to happen at MAP 808.01 in the above case. How can we achieve this.

We are aware that SAP does not recommend MAP for finished goods. However, this requirement is only for Depot relevant plant materials.

Thanks,

AJ...

Hi AJ

You have changed the Price Control to V Which is 808.01.

If you now create a Sales Order, it will get VPRS Condition Value as 808.01

But your COPA valuation using Costing Key would have been set up in a way that it reads the Std Cost Estimate only.. Hence, it reads 771.28 in COPA

If all the materials in this Plant need to be valuated at V - then dont assign Costing Keys in Ke4J transaction at Mat type level.. Rather assign in KEPC at Mat Type and Plant Level (Dont assign Costing key to FG Mat Type in this Plant)

Hello Ajay,

I need a little more guidance from you to achieve this.

Currently costing key 100 is assigned at material type level for FERT.

Now to differentiate the Standard and Moving Average Price based COPA, how should we proceed.

Is it that we have to assign each plant and Material type wise costing keys in KEPC?

How many costing keys do we need to define?

Please suggest the best way to achieve it.

Thanks,

AJ.

Hi AJ,

Even if you have maintained the price control indicator as V the system is calculating standard price for information purpose only. If you do not want to calculate it, then you have to select the check box "Do not cost" in the costing view 1.
