Issue with IDT universe(unx) security

Hi All,

We have recently converted 2 unvs to unx using IDT. These unx are exported to server as well. Also we have now pointed some of our reports to unx. But when users try to refresh the report based on unx, they are getting 'You do not have the right to access data returned by this universe' error.

We have users and group set up. All the necessary security settings are done on new unx folder and connections in CMC. All other reports which are still pointing to unv are running fine. Issue comes only with the reports which are pointed to Unx. Only users which are part of  Administrators group can run these reports that are based on unx other users can not. Have tried giving Full control on connections and unxs. Still issue persists. Is there any specific access right setting that need to be done for unx?

Hi Jeet,

The Access Level you've granted to those users (obviously, their group) needs to be given access on the Data on the Universe.UNX. Try this:

  1. From the NEW Universe.UNX security, check the name of the Access Level which the user group has been assigned
  2. Go to Access Levels, right click on that Access Level (from 1st step) -> click Included Rights -> click on Add/Remove Rights
  3. In the Windows that opens up, expand System (on the left), click on Universe (information design tool), grant Data access (on the right hand side), click OK, OK, OK... to save and close
  4. Voila, you got it. If this right was already granted, then, it's something else.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Hi,

Only permissions the user has to have is on Universe and Connection.

Can you try to create a new report with those users n see if they are able to create a report and run?

Can you try to re-import the universe again and see, if it works.

Check the Everyone user permissions once (access to refresh and edit queries in  BI 4.1 | SCN)
