Multiple 997 Messages

Hi Guys,

We send back a 997-Return receipt message for all the messages we received from one of our supplier over AS2.

But we send also 997 Messages out for return receipt messages from our Supplier when we sent them a message, means we send out a return receipt message to a return receipt message 997 from the supplier, which makes no Sense!

Could you please share or let me know your thoughts on how to overcome this issue?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Prad,

You need to distinguish between ACKs:

  • Technical acknowledgment: MDN is not a EDI message by himself, just an option in your AS2 receiver channel.
  • Functional acknowledgment: 997 or CONTROL has EDI message entity, I mean should be treat as DESADV or ORDERS, and for that reason you should require MDN of these messages.

so MDN to confirn technical ACK and 997 like functional ACK with his MDN to confirm reception.

You should agree with your client what kind of ACK they are able to handle and configure your B2B addon according it.

cheers,

Roberto.

Hi

can you elaborate your issue? is your issue related to inbound 997?

Hi Ramesh,

Basically we are Sending back again a 997 for 997 Message, which is not needed and this loop goes on .

We are 7.31 Dual Stack and using EDI Separator as Sender and AS2 as Receiver channel, for this Interface.

Prasad.

is your interface outbound or inbound?

in EDISeparator to As2 scenario are you using for 997 transaction set in EDISeparator  channel?

if you don't want to send outbound 997 message to for your inbound messages you can set Acknowledgement required parameter as "not required"   in your receiver EDISeparator CC.

fyr

and for further discussion please answer above question.

It is not required. You can uncheck the option.

Hi Ramesh,

I have put a condition in the Receiver Determination to stop the 997s, but we have one more issue now.

We are sending the Second MDN to the Supplier, which is not needed. Any thoughts on the same ?

Thanks

Prasad.

i guess you are using AS2 channel right, if yes then disable your MDN option at your sender AS2 channel.
