IDT is not getting exported to the BO repository

Hi All,

Environment: SAP BO 4.1

Created an universe with IDT tool and while trying to export it to the BO repository there is no error message and no response.

Checked from the webi report to check whether the universe got exported but no.

Can you please give me some idea that what might be the issue is.

Thanks,

Sri.

Hi All,

Thanks for your time in sharing your views and experience in order to solve the issue.

Issue got resolved. Problem is with the Port which was assigned to the Input File Repository server.

Input File Repository --> APS here we will be assigning the port. By default it will be auto assign.(Uncheck the Auto assign check box and manually input the port Number)

But in this case we assigned a dedicated port to this server which was not blocked by firewall.

Restarted the servers and now we are able to publish the universe to the BI repository.

Thanks,

Sri

Hey Sri,

Are you using the same version of Client tools as the Server tools?

HI Sri,

Try to log on as the Administrator and then publish the Universe. If you can publish as Administrator and not other users, then its an issue with the Access Level or some other privileges.

Hi Venkat,

May be you should add few snapshots of how are you publishing the Universe and is the Connection already exported?

Thanks,

Hi Mahboob,

While trying to create Universe on top of HANA views getting the error "Canot display Catalog" please find the attached screen shot.

Means with my user id i am unable to access the content in the HANA system. I am using .CNS connection.

Can you please help me to find out what roles the user should have to access the content in hana with .cns connection.

Note: by selecting .cnx (local connection) i am able to see the data in the tables and build the universe but as you know with local connection we cant publish the BL to the BI repository.

Regards,

Venkat

Hi Venkat,

I haven't created a Universe with HANA as the source. Apart from that, the default way of publishing a Universe is that you need to have the Connection (.cnx) published to the repository, and you should be using .cns shortcut in the folder (in IDT), create the BLX using that .cns (shortcut) and publish the BLX and it should work. That's how we do it when working with other Relational databases.

The Role/Access Level should have Data Access privilege in BO CMC, I don't know about HANA roles. I would wait for Experts to response to your question.

Thanks,
