Check in files in a track

Hallo SDN,

we had NWDI sp12 installed and NWDS 2.0 SP9 and EP 6.0 SP9. so i copied the three base SCA's from the <instance nr>\SYS\global\CMS_CBS\plugins folder and copied into inbox directory and checked-in into the track and everythign was working fine.

now we upgraded our NWDeveloper Studio and EP to SP12.

so whenever I need to edit the DC in NWDS SP12 that was developed in a track that was previously created with NWDS SP9. what should i do. i.e. should i check-in the new three base SCA files (SP12) into the track or use the old ones (SP9).

Thank you

NWDS: Netweaver Developer Studio

NWDI: Netweaver Development Infrastructure.

If you copied those 3 base SCA's from the installed NWDI SP12 WebAS, you already had the SP12 SCA's in your track and you were actually building SP12 deployment archives (SDA's and SCA's)!

You can see the SP level of the checked-in archives in CMS.

It depends on what your target runtime environment is going to be. If the target runtime is still SP9, then leave it as it. If you've upgraded those environments to SP12, then import the SP12 libs.

If you have a mix of runtime enrivonments, well, then you have a problem. You can only import one version of the base SCA's into a given track (at a given point in time), so you can really only build for one version of a runtime environment.

It's always best to try and have all your environments sync'd up to avoid such issues.
