LSMW Internal Assignment

Hi all,

I Know how to use LSMW and upload data . Now I am trying to upload data for xk01 uisng lsmw. SO, the problem is vendor number uses internal assignment here. I don't know wether we use lsmw if lifnr uses internal assignment.Also I need to upload bank details for each vendor which are in a seperate flat file. Guys with real time experience, I think can solve this problem. Please guide me with this.

Yes, Even if internal assignment is used you can still use LSMW. The thing to do for audit or reporting purposes is to map the legacy (Old) vendor number in a field that you can later query on. For example somebody wants to find the vendor based on the old number you should have this data stored in a field so you can look it up and retrieve the SAP internally assigned number for this vendor.

You can use any number of flat files in LSMW. You have to declare them as source in the "Maintain Source Structures" step of LSMW and then in the "Maintain Structure relationships assign each of the flat files to the correct structure in LSMW.

Hi Anupama,

Its true that we can use LSMW even if lifnr uses internal number assignment. I am aware of that. What I am really looking at is how to prepare the flat file Just in case If I am uploading bank details too. when It uses external assignment we specify lifnr both in header and item details. what is the case when it is internal assignment.
