I have some rpt files created using Crystal Reports XI R2, since Crystal Reports XI R2 is desupported, I would like to migrate my rpt files to latest version of Crystal Report, ie Crystal Reports 2016. Can any body please guide me with the migration steps?
CR 2016 may have updated DB Client drivers and with changes in Database security it's always recommended to open each report, Verify Database and then resave them so it's all up to date to current Client SQL and Report Version.
This way also you can catch any bugs that may have been introduced by these security updates and possibly any in CR itself.
There are known issues with Oracles OLE DB Provider and I believe there are issues with MS SQL Server and Stored Procedures, using ODBC is the way the Community is going so use ODBC when and if you can.

Hi Sasireka,
Reports created in XI R2 are fully supported in CR 2016.
If you don't have BusinessObjects Enterprise/CR Server, you'd need to open each report in CR 2016 and simply Save.

Hi Abhilash,
Can you let me know if the reports created in XI R1 are fully supported in CR 2016? I am in a similar situation as Sasi, but on XI R1.
Thanks
Ramesh
