Release strategy for Shopping Cart

HI SRM GURU

We are implementing SRM 4.0 and follow a classic scenarios.

While creating a shoping cart the approval of Shopping cart is based on various attributes like

Material Group + Cost Center + Value .

Can I change the standard workflow conditions and add new conditions like material Group and cost centers.

So that when I create a Shopping cart and change the cost center in the shopping cart, it goes to the head of the new cost center(for Approval) which is manually entered in the shopping cart.

Can this control be achived through the Org plan attributes.

Hi Nimish,

Yes you can base your WF approval on SC content (material group, cost center...).

You can easily chnage your starting conditions to match your requirements.

How do we change the parameteres and the starting Conditions say ,

follwoing is the situation -

Material group Cost Center Value Release Person

LGEN01 C019 5000 A1

LGEN01 C019 10000 A2

LCAT01 C019 5000 C1

LCAT02 C020 5000 C3

Like that we have 100's of combinations bsed on cost center. Is is that I have to add all this in SAP Workflow start conditions .?????

If I remove the Cost Center Constraint and Keep Only Material Group Say

Material GRoup Value Approver

LGEN 01 5000 P1

LGEN 02 10000 P2

LCAT 01 10000 C2

Like this I have 7-8 Material Groups and based on change of the value It should pick up the correct Approval Person. Is this Possible or will it be a development.

Hi Nimish,

Development or not is just a question of maintenance workload.

Who is going to maintain, update, create, delete, change the content of your starting conditions ?

How often do you update it : weekly, monthly, yearly... ?

Of course, you can do it in the starting conditions without doing any specific development.

By the way, release person are not part of the starting conditions ...

We dont want the individual users as part of start conditions our requirment is to incorporate the Material Groups in thestart conditions.

Through this BADI - BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI and maintaining table entries in table BBPT_WFL_LIA_DEF it is possible to maintain the shopping cart approval line item wise

based on combination of Product Catergory + Material Group + Value .

Can any body throw more information on the above release strategy.
