Manual Quality Level creation

Hello Guys,

We have a question on Quality Level for the DMR “At Char level” assigned to the Insp plan. 

We are working on the Legal entity separation, hence we need to clone the Inspection Next stage change thro’ Manual Quality level creation from Old plant to New Plant code instead an Automatic Quality level creation “SKIP” as default .But the System is not allowing to create the Manual Quality Level (QDL1), since the DMR set up at Char. Level. It throws an error message as “You can only create Q levels for plans with dynamic modification by lot - Message no. QD623”.

Can you throw some light to create the Manual Quality Level in QDL1.

Sometimes back I have shared my idea on how could we can try planning for manually migrating Q-level. Here is the thread - https://scn.sap.com/thread/3843837

I think there are some prerequisites before you can plan for this step.

a) Activate "Manual Sample Calculation" in Material Master [QMAT-MST].

b) Maintain DMR details.

c) For every material + Inspection plan + GrC + Plant combination, migrate the latest Q Level with the previous suggestion.

d) Then assign inspection plans to inspection lots in QA32/QA02. Samples will be calculated based on the migrated Q-levels.

e) After these steps, reset the check for 'Manual Sample Calculation' in Material Master.

Once the system is up, next time, then based on the latest available Q-levels, it will start picking the stages, and populate the other fields like Counts for Result recording, Counts for UD, Reset Dates, etc.

As this is something never tested by me, it will be great if you can get this tested in sandbox.

I have the same requirement to migrate Q Level from a legacy to SAP. (at 3-Characteristic Level).

I am aware of OSS notes 136395 - Creation/transfer of Q-levels is not possible which help to migrate Q Level.

But, in your step by step, I do not understand step A) and E). Why do you perform these activities ? for which requirement ? why is it necessary ?

Have you find a technical solution to apply an special stage number (ex: 1200) when we initialize Q-Level ?

Hi Nicolas,

My Idea for suggesting option a) and then e) was to suggest the user to test the usability of the approach and once successful, reset it back to normal. As once the sample is calculated, then the plan is assigned and the level will be selected. As this approach suggested was too complex to implement, hence was a good idea to test it once. May be I could not mention my views more crisply in the thread, hence is your confusion!!

As you mentioned correctly, in one of the recent thread on the similar subject, I have shared the same SAP Note - https://scn.sap.com/thread/3916147 and I believe it will solve most of these data copying issues.

NO, I have not found any such solution yet for adopting any special stage. May be this is something we should keep sharing for enrichment of the discussion thread. Thanks for your valuable inputs.
