Personas 3.0 - Problems with the Calendar Controls

The calendar control is giving us lots of problems in 3.0.

Here is what we observe:

1) It takes a long time for the calendar control to open (5+ seconds)

2) It takes longer for it to close (10+ seconds)

3) The up and down arrows at the top of the control behave erratically - sometimes it changes the year, sometimes the month, sometimes the day. There is no predicting which field will change.

4) The calendar control only loads with 4 months in the future. This is difficult if we are planning shipping and order dates further out in the future.

5) Occassionally when opening the calendar control - F4 help for an unrelated field will pop up.

I've also noticed that when you pop up the calendar control - many of the other fields on the screen disappear. Sometimes these missing fields contain information that help the user determine which date to enter.

Hi Shane,

Please test the behavior of the calendar control with the webgui instead of the personas service, and add &sap-personas-runmode=0 to the URL to completely disable Personas. This is to see how the webgui behaves without any Personas involvement, to determine whether what you see is how things happen already in the webgui, before Personas has any effect. My suspicion is that the behavior will not be any different, in other words, these are issues that the webgui team should take a look at. In this case, an incident to component BC-FES-WGU would be the right way to go, if you feel that there is a product issue here.

As for the additional question with the screen shot: are the disappearing fields coming from another tab than where the calendar popup belongs? In other words, are you using tab merging? If yes, then this behavior may be normal and the result of how tab merging works. I'm not sure if there is a way to change that, but this can be investigated.
