Dear Expert ,

I have many PPM's with different resource and during the overload for PPM1 I want the optimizer to move to the next alternative PPM2 and so on ...

I tried to achieve this by PPDS heuristic but not success , and now with optimizer , could you please assist

Hi Rami,

A possibility in this case is to create quota arrangements in /SAPAPO/SCC_TQ1. There, you can define quota for each item/PPM as required. Then, you can run SAP_PP_Q001, which will distribute the shortages among the valid quotas/PPMs.

If you have a very simple PPM/PDS, the Wave Heuristic (SAP_REM_002) is an option. You can find details in note 584051 Multiresource planning (primary resource) (documentation)

It is also possible to use BAdI /SAPAPO/PWB_SOS, Method PWB_USEX_SOS. Whenever heuristic is creating an order, it executes source determination to find what are the valid sources and rank them (e.g. according to procurement priority, etc). In this BAdI Method, you can change the source ranking such that another source will be chosen.

PP/DS Optimizer and DS heuristic will not change the source of supply (PDS/PPM) of a given order. If the scenario is modelled such that there is a single PPM/PDS with alternative modes, the optimizer and/or DS heuristic may be able to reschedule the activities into alternative modes in case of missing capacity.

Tiago

Dear Rami,

In Order to consider the next suitable PPM/ PDS  we are also having an additional functionality of Planning Id in Production versions. When we use the planning Id while creating the production versions in ECC and selection method which is available in MRP4 . We can prioritize the PDS.

Hope this clue would help you.Rewards are highly appreciated.

I'm working with PPM , not PDS , and maintain the Procurement priority as I mentioned above

See if you can help

Rami,

I suggest you first read SAP help on Source determination.  There are several logical methods available to you to rank the priorities of the various sources of supply (which include PPMs).

Hi Rami,

You can try with the available PPDS heuristic 'Multi resource scheduling' which would work for alternative PDS/PPM.

For more information on the heuristic, kindly go through the following link.

Hope this helps.

Hi Dogboy

He always takes the PPM with highest priority , I have two PPMs one with procurement priority 1 and the second one with procurement priority 2

He always take the first one during the finite scheduling

I have two demand in same day 29.03.2016 , the start date and end date like this :

29.03.16

04.04.16

05.04.16

11.04.16

Please Advise

Rami,

It now sounds like you wish to implement some form of capacity leveling.  Read the various SAP help documents on this subject.  A good start would be

Consideration of Alternative Resources - Supply Network Planning Run - SAP Library
