Same Outbound delivery in two shipment documents VT01N

It is possible for me to add the same outbound delivery in more than shipment documents.

I want this to be blocked, is there any setting or data that allow me to block this ?

Thanks for your help.

    Hi Iba,

Please refer this KBA 2176545 which provides further information about this behavior. As per the standard design, it's not possible to avoid this via any customization, etc..

But you can try to avoid this through modification by placing custom coding in the userxits based on VBUK-TRSTA field which would be set to C or whether any entry exits in VBFA table for a delivery with VBFA-VBTYP_N EQ '8'.

I'm not very sure how far above solution would help in your case since you might have different business scenario's which I'm not aware of. So, I would suggest you to test all the scenario's if you are planning to implement this.

Better option without any modification would be: During the delivery search in the shipment document via VT02n, set a variant where Transportation status EQ 'A' or 'B'. Through this, you can ignore the deliveries which are already assigned to a shipment document.

    • I wonder in which business case it would make sense to add deliveries with transportation status = C in the default selection, anyway.

      Any ideas?

Edit: at least in the companies where I have seen transportation module, A to B selection was always set... this is why I am wondering.

In some business cases this is a desirable effect - e.g. transportation cross-docking process.

You cannot add a delivery to more than one shipment in case the transportation status of the delivery becomes 'C' - completed after adding it to the first shipment. This is controlled by the leg indicator on shipment type level.

You can navigate to Define shipment type in SPRO, press F1 on the leg indicator and read the explanation for more details.
