Hi All,
I have a question, my client does not want to refer back archiving data from live system while performing operations.
How can we restrict? if we are disconnecting the archiving server then our web services are getting error messages.
Do we have to check for function modules which will not refer to archiving data.
If you have come across such scenarios could you please share your inputs.
We are using open text server as our archiving repository and we do it from SAP IS-U.
Thanks and regards,
N.Nagaraju
Hi Nagaraju,
let me know from which t-code your client is retrieving the data? Its a pre requisite that AIS structure to be activated for archiving the data for few objects in IS-U.
Thanks,
Bala.

Hi,
For example from ES32 when I access Installation (which has archived facts) and system shows archived facts and in FPE3 (Display Document) we have a check box "Check Archive" once it's selected then also it displays details fetching from archive repository. I would like to restrict user to fetch archived data. At the same time don't want to disturb any configuration on archiving end.
Is there any authorization object which can help me to achieve the above mentioned functionality.
Thanks,
N.Nagaraju
HI Nagaraju,
When AIS is loaded, the transactions will fetch the archived data. those t-codes fetch data from AIS and display to the user.
If you donot want that to display, you can deactivate the infostructures. As and when you are executing archiving jobs, you can activate the same. It is just a workaround. Please get in touch with your security team to get the authorization object.
Thanks,
Bala.
The Authorization object S_DATASET controls if a user is allowed to read data from an archive.

Hi Nagaraju,
In usual case DRB will provide the options to include or NOT to include the archived data .
Not sure which report/TC you are using SAP-ISU. Please let u know? Which ever the case may be it can be ABAP modified right?
Please also check with Archive Administrator, If the data still exists in the database even after archiving. In general data is deleted only after every thing is made sure okay from archive perspective. It can be deleted so that it not include in report/TC you are running(not sure on archive flag marked data please check).
Feel free to call me I will try to help
Thanks,
Kolusu
