Bulk Storage

Hi,

I created a bulk storage with block definition for my business requirement.

Put away strategy: B

Mixed storage : A

Addition to existing stock :X

Storage unit management active

SUT check active

Block definition 20 stacks and 1 level and just one SUT  called container

Hence a bin can contain 20 containers

Material A is batch activated

Storage Bins V001, V002

GR posted and while posting Transfer Order for Material A having quantity 2 with Batch 01 determines bin number V001 automatically...

When i try to post next GR-TO for the same Material A having quantity 2 with Batch 02, this time system determines bin number V002 instead of V001

My requirement is, for the same Material number A and different batches, system should determine same bin number till it reaches 20...

can any one throw some light on this...which settings i should maintain in my storage type details...

Regards

Sek

Your batch is different, that is the reason that SAP does not automatically store it in the same bin, you have to force this via user exit, see KBA 2024405 - Bulk storage type putaway is not respecting the putaway strategy

Thanks Jurgen for your quick reply.

For my requirement, Can i achieve my requirement by replacing bulk storage with some other putaway strategy with capacity check 5-(storage unit management active).

..If yes ....which will be the better putaway strategy option so that i can test in that direction...

Capacity check 5 should in no case be used together with Addition to existing stock, see OSS note 392776 - Capacity check in the Warehouse Management

Try it with putaway strategy P
