ODS issue

Hi all,

I receieved few error messages - <b>'datasource 8xxxx doesn't exist in source system XXX of version A'</b>, <b>'error when creating the export datasource and dependent obects'</b>, and <b>'error when activating ODS object ZOxxxx'</b> when I tried to activate my ODS. Can someone point out what the problems are? Thank you.

HI,

In RSA1 goto Source Systems area - right click on your Myself system - Replicate Datasources. Then goto Infoprovider area, find your ODS - right click - Generate Export Datasource. Then in Infosources area under Datamart node find your 8<ODS> datamart and activate its transfer rules.

For details see OSS note 457547 - "Export DataSource must be replicated each time".

Replicate all DataSources at Source System level.

BWDCLNT100 -> right click -> Replicate DataSources

Hi,

thnks, but all the characteristics involved in the ODS are actived.

I can´t Generate Export Datasouerce in the ODS ZXXX, because the it isn´t actived, and i can´t active it, because 8XXX don´t exists in the system in active version ¿?¿?¿

hi,

check all characteristics, attributes, compound attributes and keyfigures involved in designing ODS and ensure that all these are active.

even after this, pls revert back with the error message if any.

I think the Reason sd be that a characteristic involved is active but it is using new or inactive attributes. So what u do is check all characteristics involved as described in the following:

Check the Compounding and Attributes tabs in the characteristics maintenance.

All characteristics here must be active. This is displayed by a green icon.

If this is not the case for a characteristic involved (a gray icon is displayed on one of the two tabs), activate the characteristic involved. This also activates the inactive dependent characteristics.

After you have checked and repaired all the characteristics involved as described above, the loading/maintenance of master data should work again.

try to right click bw myself source system and 'restore' or other functions.

Symptom

When you activate or transport ODS objects, the following errors appear in the log:

"The creation of the export DataSource failed". Message number RSBM 035

"Error &1 in function module &2". Message number RSBM 006

"Error when creating the export DataSource and dependent Objects". Message number RSDODSO 169

"Error when activating the ODS object &1". Message number RSDODSO 168

Reason and Prerequisites

A characteristic involved is active but it is using new or inactive attributes.

Characteristics involved are all characteristics used in the ODS object.

Solution

Check all characteristics involved as described in the following:

Check the Compounding and Attributes tabs in the characteristics maintenance.

All characteristics here must be active. This is displayed by a green icon.

If this is not the case for a characteristic involved (a gray icon is displayed on one of the two tabs), activate the characteristic involved. This also activates the inactive dependent characteristics.

When you are using a Data Mart, make sure you generate the export data source first by right click the ODS and generate the Export Data source and then proceed with load.
