Derivation Rules - Re-usability of rules ?

I am in process of creating derivation rules in FM module in 3 different strategies.

There is list of cost centers which needs to be part of derivation rules in three different strategies (FMDERIVE, Budget address, Tolerance).

If i setup the derivation rule in FMDERIVE, can i re-use it in other strategies or are they specific to a strategy. I know each derivation rule creates a table in SAP, how can i find that table name and can i use that table in different strategies.

I just want to reduce the data maintenance of these rules if possible, so wanted to create an object and re-use it at many places. (If possible).

Also in FMDERIVE i can see a button "Read all sets and update the rule". Can somebody explain the purpose of sets and how can we use it. (where to define/maintain SETS).

I did some search but coudnt find any information on SETS and its relevance to derivation rules.

Thanks.

Hi,

These rules belong to different objects and cannot be reused. You can, of course, extract the data to Excel in order to facilitate the introduction of similar rules, but this is it. The tables where rules are dynamic. You can find their names, when accessing to, say, FMDERIVE to the strategy, and then going to Menu - Extras - Overview.

Eli
