Hi Experts
I am trying to configure a sender mail adapter in XI .
I gave address of my Microsoft Exchange server as imap://<serveraddress>InBox in the communication channel for Sender Mail Adapter . I can see this communication channel green ( in running status) in Adapter Monitoring.
But i do not see ang XML messages in SXMB_MONI txn.
How exactly the polling of Mail Adapter works? .. Does it wait till it sees a new mail in the inbox and then only it picks up ?
Any pointers as to how should we set up things so tht atlesat i can see XML message for this sender adapter (even a erro XML message related to my sender channel is fine)
Please provide suggestions
Regards
rohan
Hi rohan,
I would suggest that you go through this blog by Michal to know how to configure your sender mail adapter,
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step
Also, to know the various parameters of a sender mail adapter, just go through this link,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/23/c093409c663228e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
Check your mail adapter configuration against these details. Also, check if the mail server you are trying to access is running.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
bhavesh

Don't know if it was a typo, but you specified:
imap://<serveraddress>InBox
Should be imap://<serveraddress>/Inbox
Also, with imap, you can specify something like:
imap://<serveraddress>/<new folder>
This <new folder> would be a folder that you create to get the mail from.
I did find that the message has to be new/unread for it to be picked up by default.

Jin
