Hi,
can any one explain MRP throw the planned orders without checking material availability?
Tks.
Hello,
MRP does not perform the availability check, function of MRP is do the net requirement calculation and generate the procurement proposal against the requirements.
If you have there is shortage for components (raw materials) then if you run multi level MRP MD02
it will generate the procurement proposal for your raw materials too.

Hi Hasintha,
As already explained by Experts "R.Brahmankar & Mariano", MRP and availability checks are not related.
MRP is used for planning of finished materials as well as lower level components. Based on various parameters maintained in customizing / master data, system decides the shortage quantity and creates procurement proposal.
Availability check is generally carried out later, to check if sufficient stock of components is available for consumption / usage.
You can carry put ATP check in planned orders change mode or using transaction MDVP to get missing components.

Rohit

Hi Hasintha,
Use of special procurement key is not relevant to this thread. I believe you have asked based on a different query posted yesterday. Anyways, its configured OMD9 & maintained in master master MRP 2 view.
you can find many webpages in google that can show you step by step procedure.
Please close any other thread that you feel is already answered.
Regards,
Rohit
Hi,
As was mentioned by the expert R.Brahmankar, the MRP does not consider the availability of your components or the capacity. It just create replenishment orders.
You can run the material availability check (Comp. ATP) in the planned order, but the planned order is already created by the MRP (with or without missing parts).
Kind Regards,
Mariano
