Approval with custom defined party

Hello pros,

I want to configure a lead approval process so that Lead Owner could select an approver by hand for one of the steps. Our customer requested such feature.

I tried using work distribution Custom Defined Involved Party, but after sending a Lead for approval it is going to no approver. How can I make  Custom Defined Involved Party work distribution find an approver?

Hi Nadezhda

I believe these steps should be followed in conjunction with the approval rule you have:

  1. The scope setting under Leads - Do you want the system to automatically submit a Lead must not be checked.
  2. Mark “Approver” as Active in your Lead Involved Parties (in the Activity List)
  3. Open/create your Lead, go to Involved Parties tab, select Add and then Approver. Now select the employee.

Even though I have the above settings the Approver does not appear as an option when I do a dropdown on the Involved Parties in the Lead. I am not sure why...something is missing.

If you find the solution please update this post, I am interested.

Hi Belinda,

I totally forgot to assign an approver in the leada itself. Thank you!

I will work futher on that and tell you the results.
