Temporary store material in warehouse which is owned by customer

Hi All,

we have the situation that materials are sold to the customer or are placed at customer site within a contract.

Sometimes these materials must be temporary be returned to our warehouse.

So we want to change the ship-to for that period to our warehouse so we can register the locations in the warehouse correctly.

We only want to use f.i. 2 deliveries but not a return order. First delivery is to place it in warehouse, second delivery is to bring it back to the customer site.

SAP system is still 4.0B.

What is the best way to do this? Can we do this with a serviceorder?

1) Receive the return materials from customer with movement 451, it'll post the goods to returned blocked stock and then do transfer posting from this stock type to your company own stock with movement 453.

2) When you send back these goods to customer site, you need to have a return order, to my knowledge without reference is not possible unless you customize the return delivery type.
