Exporting to Excel Merging fields

Former Member

Hi,

I have a report with a 4 field subreport. I have aligned all fields same width and height to export. When I export 2 of my subreport fields export as merged fields.

The main report exports perfectly. If I export the subreport only it also exports perfectly.

How can I export my main report and subreport so that the each field exports to its own cell in Excel ?

Thanks,

Debbie

Because of the subreport, this will be a challenge....

Do you have column headers for the subreport in the main report?  If so, you will get merged columns unless the X location and width of the headers exactly match the fields in the subreport.  You may be able to get this to work by doing the following:

1.  In the subreport, remove ALL of the column "markers" from the ruler at the top of the page.

2.  Run the report - we're going to work on it in Preview mode.

3.  Make sure that ALL of the fields from the subreport line up exactly with the header fields.

Another thing to look at is what is above the data in possibly a group or report header.  Make sure that these objects line up with the left side of the object below them and that the right side also lines up with that of an object below - the left and right sides don't have to be the same object if the header data is wider than what's below it.

That helped along with your suggestion I had to change deselect 'can grow' one of my labels.

Thanks,
