Crystal 2016, ODBC, SQL Server 2012 and dynamic parameter

Hi, after running a pilot we decided to use the following components of the SAP BI-Stack: Crystal 2016 (, with ODBC (SQL Server Native Client 11.0 2011.110.6020.00) to a SQL Server 2012 (11.0.6518.0) database, BOE 4.2 (, direct connections -> no universe.

1.) I create a simple report using CR2016 without using BOE. The report contains one column and a dynamic prompt /parameter on this column. At the end I added filter on the prompt parameter. The report works as expected. The prompt pops up, I select a value, the value is shown in the report (very simple).

2.) I save the report to disc.

3.) I connect to my repository from inside Crystal 2016 and save the report to BOE.

4.) I rerun the report without restarting crystal, but now the LoV is empty/missing. There is only a blank input field I can use. The rest workd as expected.

My Question: What happened to the dynamic prompt with the LoV?

I am searching for weeks now. Any ideas welcome.
Thanks in advance

    Hi Stephan,

As soon as a report is saved to the 'repository', dynamic prompts are no longer 'locally' managed.

Dynamic prompts are managed by BOE and they can be edited using a tool called 'Business View Manager' (This should be part of the client tools which is a separate download).

Since BOE manages dynamic prompts, you'll need to recreate 32-bit connections to the Database using the same ODBC names on the BOE Server box.
