Is it possible to copy one Account info (Activities, contacts) to another Account?

Dear Cloud Experts,

As per our business requirement is it possible to copy one Account info (Activities- Appointments, Tasks, Phone Calls & Contact person) to another Account? Our business wants to retain the info in source account, hence we wants to know is there any option of copy functionality.

Note: I am aware of the account info movement through mass data maintenance, in this way all the activities will be moved from one account to another, but after the movement there is no data available in source account, because we moved the data so it is available in target account. The requirement is we want retain the data in source account also, hence we are looking for copy functionality.

Please let me know your ideas.

Hi Murugesan,

in 1602 Release there is now a functionality for Account merging.

Please check the Release Notes: https://help.sap.com/cloud4customer

It is now possible to merge up to 3 Accounts.

Hello Murugesan ,

There is NO copy functionality .Only you can do is create 'New Account' reference to Parent Account.

However in this case too only basic info(such as 'Header details') will be copied in 'New Account' ,not

all the activities of Parent Account.

Thank you so much for your input.

Just for the info here that our business scenarios is buyout or merger of two accounts, in such cases our business wants to maintain the Activity details in both the accounts (source & target) for future reference (in case of any conflict they can refer these activities if it is available in source account).

I expect this is something,which is not available with standard functionality i.e. Copied Account won't have Activities copied from parent account .

As I understood from your comment, I can create a new Account referenced to parent account. Only basic info will be copied. I have been trying to enable this feature but I haven't found any information. Can you share with me the steps to create a new account referenced to parent account?

Hello David,

1.While creating New Customer, in the New Customer screen - you should have field name: 'Parent Account' available.

==> Please check via adaptation and personalizing the 'New Customer' screen.

2.Also check in Business Configuration->Ecoping question under Sales ->Account Managements i.e. "Do you want to use account hierarchies?" to be scoped.
