Not sure if you’re looking for an explanation or a formula.

When I try to write a formula, it doesn’t match the value that is calculated in the period totals.I would think the formula should be to calculate average daily consumption as total demand/number of days in the period (2/7 – 2/15 = 9 days).1100/9 = 122.2 per day.Using that daily consumption rate, I’d calculate that the 1000 should last (1000/122.22) 8.18 days not 8.7.

Having said that, here’s how I think it comes up with actual days of coverage of 8.7

Starting on 2/6, by the 8th day (2/14) 800 of the 1000 available will be consumed. The remaining 200 will last another .67 days (200/300).

The same approach could be used for the subsequent dates

Starting on 2/7 by the 7th day (2/14) 600 of the 800 available will be consumed. The remaining 200 will last another .67 days.

Starting on 2/9 by the 5th day (2/14) 300 of the 500 available will be consumed. The remaining 200 will last another .67 days.

etc

Hope this helps
