Sub total counts in a group without adding a sub group.

I have a grouped report and I need sub-totals within the report without creating a specific sub-total for each specific type, because there are 45 different types and I don't need 45 sub-totals in each group. Only the sub-totals that show up in that group on the date that report is ran. I also do not want to create a sub group.
