Hi Guru,

Our client is using variant configuration. We have one material which is configured material and its a final material while creating quotation system will generate characteristics and it will automatically come to our quotation line item description.

I was doing some testing in material master with this material number i have added plant specific configuration with the same material number and clicked on configure variant and configure planning variant. Now the issue is when i'm creating the quotation system is not giving the correct data.

Again i have tried to delete the entries which i made in plant-specific configuration in MRP3 but now its in display mode and couldn't able to delete as well . Can anyone please tell me how to delete that entries?

Please see the screenshot below, which is to be deleted.

Hello

See the information below from note 941004:

Question: I have assigned a configurable material to material variant in MRP3/Basic data view by mistake. Why is it not possible to delete this material and assign a different configurable material ?

Answer: If the material variant has already been used, one should refrain from removing the allocated configurable material. The standard design does not allow to remove or change the allocation of a configurable material to a material variant once it is created, as this can lead to irreparable inconsistencies on the database. The only Solution offered by the SAP standard is the deletion of the material.
However, in case no configuration was created for the material variant and you are not willing to archive the material then you can contact your local consulting.services , since this is a non standard procedure and a customer specific report can be provided after doing certain checks.

Thanks Caetano for your quick reply..

I have got this below link which is similar to my post,

How to delete Material variant assignment to co... | SCN

If we delete the table entries by using SAP ABAP Debugger can i get the old material master? as i cant archive this material due to some other issues. C is the final material for us if i do the archive of this material will not able to do further future testing.

I just have tried to create a new material (D) by copying this original material (C) but couldn't able to extend the all master data's.

Also can you please let me know what are the procedures and Transactions have to follow for the same?

Hello

Of course that you can remove values using the debug or changing directly the table.

However, this is kind of solution is not recommended by SAP and it may lead to inconsistencies or short dumps on your system.

I personally do not recommend this kind of solution.

Hi Caetano,

I have deleted the entry by using debugging.. the material master is working fine... many thanks

We have one more issue if possible can you please suggest,

For making changes to sales order from UI5 system we are using standard BAPI "BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE" this BAPI is giving us an internal error.

The same order when changed from SAP is not giving any error. Here in this case we are changing consistence value in configuration for the sales order.

For the material number 'C' Which is our final material the default configuration is coming while creating the quotation in SAP. Please see the screen shot for the same,

when the slump value is 50 and if we change the value from 50 to any other values in Sale order in UI5 the slump value is not getting changed in Sale order in SAP.

If we change the value from any value to any other value it shoud be reflected in sale order in SAP.

Can you please help me to get this sorted out as its burning issue for us?

Regards

Hello,

Please refer KBA  1896387 - How to fill the configuration structure of the BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE

Also implement OSS note 1597675 - Termination CU 013 for BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE
