no change document when using fipp.change

I noticed that when using FIPP.CHANGE there is no change document written to the preposting (usually visible when choosing menu Environment.. Changes) despite the system using a call transaction when calling the Change method.

Anyone has a solution for this? Seems very strange that any change to the preposting should go unlogged just because it was made from the workflow..

Couldn't find an OSS note with regards to this, using SAP_BASIS 740 SP9, SAP_APPL 617 SP7, FINBASIS 600 SP26

Hello Stephan,

there are no change documents written for preliminary documents, only for the posted ones.

The FIPP.changed event is created for the Workflow-Scenario "Posting release", so a workflow may react on (any particular) change to the document.

If you need more specific restrictions, you may use a BTE with a custom event.

Hi

When you do the exact same change with a transaction (not from workflow) do you have a change document registered ?

Check that the table on which you are changing something is in Transaction SCDO under the change document name you expect also check that the data element  used in this table is also marked for change document.

Hope that helps

Cheers
