Disallow reuse of issued serial number

The system ensure unique serial number per material however once the goods are issued (with serial numbers),system accept to reuse the same serial number for a fresh GR of that material.

Is there a way to block this from happening ?

I don't want the serial to be usable.

Hi,

   System allows the re-use of serial number if its not in stock. You  may check the thread: how to prevent re-use of serial number? | SCN which provides an option to restrict the same!

Further question regarding this method, will it affect the GR from inter-company sales order.

For example I sell product-A with serial-S0001 which is produced and GR 101 in company code 1000

then sell to company 2000, so company 2000 need to GR  product-A with serial-S0001.

Will company 2000 be able to receive product-A with serial-S0001 since it already exists in the system?
