No link to Livecache during planning area time series objects creation

Hi all,

I am setting up my DP Planning area in /SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN and when i trying to create time serious objects i get this message at the bottom saying "No link to LiveCache". The BASIS team who has given the system says, its something i am missing in my setups and nothing to do with BASIS. Please assist me, I am not sure what needs to be done here.

I did the following checks,

LC10 - LCA is operational but "SQL access is possible" says 'NO"

/SAPAPO/OM17 - Consistency check failed with message "Connection to liveCache failed"

Program /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK - same message "No link to LiveCache"

Program /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE - Same message "No link to LiveCache"

Program /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INIT_SHOW - Cannot see any rows there for any standard and my custom planning area

Transaction /SAPAPO/OM13 - On the CHECKS tab - liveCache Initialization is RED with several other RED's from below

Hi SP,

Please check SAP Note 1586994 - Connection to live Cache failed.

Thanks,

Hi,

This looks like issue with Live cache only. If LC is setup fine, atleast basic consistency checks like OM17 and time series will work fine.

Please check again with Basis Team.

Thanks, I just did and BASIS came back and told me that I would need to connect my object to LiveCache only then the Link would work, so for them LiveCache seems to work fine. Any other thoughts on where I need to check from application side, does Planing Version needs to be connected to LiveCache ?

thanks

Hi

Can you please access LC10 - Monitor and check the status of data based connections between LC and Data base. Enter the data base connection name --> click on Monitor with DBA cockpit.

The operation status has to be green for all the 3 data base connections.

This is mainly a basis activity.

Thanks

Thanks Amol.

Yes the Operation State for all three database and the MaxDB are Green. The only issue i see is that "SQL access is possible" says 'NO" and when i asked BASIS, they said they dont use SQL server but MaxDB.

Could this issue be related to this SQL access issue ?

thanks

Hello there,

In LC10, i see this error message when I tested the connection under System :Landscape, does this mean something ? and related to my issue above. thanks

SP,

Have you created Model 000 and Version 000?

It is not realistic to expect us to tell you and your Basis team all the steps required to make a new system operational.  I will assume the Basis team has followed the steps contained in the Implementation guide, and you have followed all the steps of basic DP configuration.  I suggest you just raise a message with SAP.

Hi DB49.

Yes 000 Model and Version 000 exists. I could not go further than creating planning area. Could not initialize or create time series. Always comes with "No link to Livecache"

BASIS keeps saying that I need to do something. They have done everything needed. Not sure whether it should be BASIS or me.

thanks
