Is it possible to use mvt types 701-702 in order to post inventory differences?

these are inventory management  movements for inventory differences, they shall not be used for WM locations. And they are usually automatic movements from posting differences via MI07.

What is the purpose of this question here in the WM space?

Yes those are IM. The WM mvts are 711 & 712.

In actual fact there are 6 movement types for stock differences

711 and 712 are only for unrestricted stock

711 = Writes off unrestricted stock

713 = Writes off Quality stock

715 = Writes off Blocked Stock

712 = Writes On unrestricted stock

714 = Writes On quality stock

716 = Writes On Blocked stock
