It could create the database but couldn't create any table.
anybody has any idea about it?
Thanks,
Maryam
Folks, we have tried the below solution and it has worked consistently for NW2004s SR1 Installation on Windows/MSSQLServer:
1. Use a simple password e.g. abcde@12 as the master password
2. On the server, launch Server Network Utility, go to TCP/IP properties and verify if there is just 1 port or 2. If there are two ports (e.g. 1433,3150) remove the second port and just leave 1433.
3. Delete folder usr\sap\<SID>
4. Start sapinst all over

Hi Maryam,
Have you checked that the DP1adm user has rights to modify the database in SQL2000? It looks like some sort of security error.
Perhaps if you post the last few relevant lines of the jload.log it might give us some more info.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

java.sql.SQLException: [SAP NetWeaver][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Unable to connect. Invalid URL.
As you see on log file,it says couldn't connect to DB,but it created database and user on the SQL server.
I don't know which URL is invalid,Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks alot,
Maryam
Hi Maryam,
It sounds like there might be an error in the database instance name that you are using in the install process. Are there any special characters, spaces, other weirdness in the database name? How long is the name?
Regarding the version of Java, I've successfully installed using 1.4.2_10 three times, so I'm confident that will work for you.
Hi,
this sounds weired, but we have had this problem several times and normally it was caused by the password we were using.
So we found out that a password like this abcde#12 is working fine, i.e. length between 6 and 8 digits; no capital letters; using letters, 1 special character and digits.
If you don't have any other solution, just try this.
Regards, Astrid
Hi guys,
Finally our problem is solved by SAP Guys on Germany and Washington.
The problem was the value of the following registry key on our SQL server
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL
Server\CRM\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\Tcp\TcpPort
it was port#1,port#2, as SAP suggestion we changed it to port#1 and we could finish our installation without any other issue.
Thank you everybody for your help
Maryam
