Features of SAP APO PPDS

Hello Gurus,

I am new to PPDS, can you please provide some insight about the features/ability of PPDS. Like SNP does DRP and Master scheduling. Can you please list  the different scenarios SAP APO PPDS supports like Campaign planning, block planning etc and if there is any documentation or building blocks for PPDS i would really appreciate it.

Hi Nick,

PPDS helps in carrying out

• Detailed planning typically at plant level

• Scheduling of resources, orders to the most detailed level (such that they can be taken up and followed for execution)

• Capacity Planning, Other priorities and sequences of operations and resources

• Assisting the execution system with the detail-most planning and near-execution data

Hi,

SAP APO PPDS is a module in APO which helps in planning and detailed scheduling.

It is used to create Procurement proposals for in-house production or external procurement to cover product requirements.

To optimize and plan the resource schedule and the order dates/times in detail
