Hi Friends,
I have installed SAP content server 6.5 with MaxDB 7.9 on Windows 2012 R2.
Immediately after installation, I am trying to verify the installation status with below link.
IIS8 is installed with roles given in Snote 1704365.
Could you please help me in this issue.
http://HOSTNAME.abc.xyz:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?ServerInfo
Explorer giving error
The webpage cannot be found
HTTP 400
Most likely causes:
•There might be a typing error in the address.
•If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date.
What you can try:
Retype the address.
Go back to the previous page.
Go to and look for the information you want.
More information More information
This error (HTTP 400 Bad Request) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the web server, but the webpage could not be found because of a problem with the address.
For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.
Thanks
Mukesh
Solution -
Silly Mistake --
http://HOSTNAME.abc.xyz:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?ServerInfo
The correct link is
http://HOSTNAME.abc.xyz:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo
I was using ServerInfo while the correct is serverInfo
Case Sensitive.
Thank you all, specially Ashutosh, you involved here sufficient to resolve the issue.
Thanks
Mukesh

Hi Subhash, Thanks for your reply.
IIS was already configured as stated in the link.
Firewall is already OFF, still I created the rule as mentioned in Index 8.
Still no success.
Any other suggestion:

Hi Ashutosh,
Thank you for reply.
Every thread is suggesting to reinstall the Content server. I did it many times but no luck.
Content server is just installed (installation Finished) and I am checking the link
http://Hostname:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?ServerInfo
SAP is suggesting to check the ISS roles and OS team is saying is as suggested by SAP.
We are using IIS8 and Windows Server 2012 R2 with MAXDB 7.9 for Content server 6.5.
If you could help further, this will really help me to reduce my todo list.
Thanks
Mukesh
Hi Mukesh:
Did you try the IP Address of the server in the URL? Did you check if MaxDB is running?
Any errors that you see in Windows event Log or Logs of IIS ?
Key I think here is that all the IIS Roles need to be properly selected to make it work.
Also your IIS Installation needs to be done with an Administrator Account before the installation of SAP Content Server starts.
Link that Subhash shared is very good and pretty much covers all the steps that are valid for Win 2012 environment as well.
Thanks,
Mandeep
