Cross-catalog search

Hi, quick question: as far as I know a cross catalog search is possible as of EBP 4.0. What does that really mean and how do I perform such a cross catalog search?

My idea is to select 'Shop' in EBP and search for a product without selecting a certain catalog. Is it like that? Can I search across my CCM and also in some different punch-out catalogs at the very same time? What are the pre-conditions to do so?

Hi Heike,

The cross catalog search function allows you to use the search with text function through several catalogs at the same time.

You have a text field on the shop transaction in which you enter your text search criteria. The search is made over all the catalog links the user has access to for which you've activated the cross search function (to be made in the catalog link definition)

The cross catalog search is to be supported by the catalog application. It is the case of CCM, but for other punch out catalog please refer to the OCI documentation (see section 3.2.4 Background Search):

Is there a list with catalog providers supporting cross-catalog search? e.g. Requisite, Poet, Heiler, Jcatalog, Peregrine...whatsoever.

That would be very helpful.

Is there also a overview with catalog providers using OCI standard at all?
