Hi All,
I am going to install Solution manger 7.1 with sybase database in linux platform. Already installed the solution manager in windows platform with SQL database. Now my question is database installation happens in before or parallel manner. Please explain as what is the difference these two platform installations. What are the steps to be followed in linux platform.
Thanks in advance
Hi Rajesh,
Yes, Sybase DB installation happens parallel during Solman installation. You dont need install Sybase before SAP installation like what we do for other combination SAP+Oracle or SAP+MSSQL.
for SAP+Sybase installation you have to just give the right RDBMS media path and the data, log file related path when it prompts during installation rest all (creating database, database user etc) will be taken care by SWPM.
Sybase is SAP's own product so I guess that's the reason why SAP is making things so simple & easy for SAP+Sybase combination
And please follow the SAP installation guide for all pre & post-installation activities

I hope it helps you
