MSSQL db 2005(Emergency)

Dear Experts,

We are using SAP ECC6.0 and MSSql 2005 db. Our data (PRDdata1, prddata2 and prddata3) storing on SAN storage. Log files storing in local hdd. Yesterday SAN storage partition was corrupted and now its restored. but MSsql 2005 db showing in emergency. and transaction log file not showing in db properties. please tell me how to solve this issue.

Thanks All,

I solved the issue. I had a backup of mdf, ndf, and ldf files. Hence I made db offline and detached the db and gain I attached db. Then I restarted the server. Then db and sap became live without any data lose.

Hi Sankar,

look into the SQL Server errorlog - the content of this logfile will show you what's really going on.

Maybe the transaction log file cannot be found or is inaccessible or there is another problem. The errorlog will tell.

Hello,

If the SAN Storage was corrupted and the database is missing important files you should restore the database from a clean backup.
