Home page configuration with SAP NWBC/SAP Portal

We plan configure SAP HOme page configuration with NWBC..

please let me now any one have idea for ESS Home page config with NWBC or Portal.  which is better?

what are the  advantages or disadvatanges compare with Portal?

2.is NWBC support all ESS & BI .......appp or not?

3. is custom desktop / theme is possible or not in NWBC ?

please let me know any more suggestions ?
