Hi,
We are trying to setup SLT based replication to HANA system. In our environment due to few constraints we are planning to use one source system connected to two separate SLT server replicating data to two separate HANA systems. Following is the high level view.
1 source --> 2 SLT --> 2 HANA
As per the guide 1:N SLT replication approach is supported however guide doesn’t explain whether it allows multiple SLT in between 1:N or not.
I have question regarding this setup.
1> Is the following approach supported?
1 source --> 2 SLT --> 2 HANA
2> If we have 2 SLT system connected to single source system then for any single table in source system, will there be two triggers for same table OR single trigger will feed both SLTs?
Thanks
Hi Amit,
Your requirement is essentially a 1:N replication.
Pleas check this note(if you have not already !).
1898479 - SLT replication: Redefinition of existing DB triggers
This note has some corrections and steps to change existing 1:1 db triggers to 1:N replication. Please test and plan carefully while changing the existing triggers from 1:1 replication to 1:N replication.

Hi
When you are using 1 source --> 2 SLT --> 2 HANA scenario make sure you select the checkbox "Multi usage" during replication configuration setup in SLT system using the LTRC transaction.
or else will create some inconsistencies and confusion if you want trouble shoot any issue in future.

I know we can use separate configuration in single SLT but following is my requirement
1 source --> 2 SLT --> 2 HANA
Is this possible? Any idae?

Hi,
As already mentioned by Brillion, the 2 SLT's can be used with one source....although 1 SLT would be the recommendation.
If you have to go down the dual SLT route, then you will need to adjust the number ranges in each SLT before creating triggers...etc, else you will have conflicts. There is a note available that explains this is detail, just don't have the number with me.
Hope this helps,
Kris
Hi Amit,
You can use single SLT system for replication to HANA.
There will be 2 configurations created for this in the same SLT. While creating configurations dont forget to mark "allow multiple usage" for source.
1. source1 to HANA1
2. source1 to HANA2
