Enable/Disable SSO

Hello,

I'm a SAP BW/BI expert, so my question will be pretty basic :-)

At my company, SSO is enabled and we use SAP Secure Login Client:

My question is, can i (as a simple enduser) enable/disbale the SSO feature temporarily?

(Background: i want to test changes to BW authorization settings in the BW front-end tools BEX Analyzer & Analaysis for Office, but i want to do this with special created test-users. So i want to log in the the front-end tools with these users, but the SSO is blocking me from doing so)

Thanks in advance for any advice or tips!

    Tom,

SAP Logon allows to override the SNC configuration by using the connection´s menu item "Logon with neither SNC nor Single Sign-On (Ctrl-Shift-Enter)".

This must be allowed by the server´s SNC configuration, of course.

    • Hi Tom, you are right, BEx Analyzer and Analysis for Office do not allow you to override this during logon procedure.

You could try logging in with SAP Logon and jump to BI clients by using transactions RRMX and RAAOE. But be careful. You will probably be the first human beeing who tries this 🤣.

A question: you cannot create a new system connection on your own and simply set the

flag on the network tab in your environment? This would work. (As long as your BW Client and GUI 7.40 versions are not older than approx. 9 months. There were bugs before.)

      Good luck,

      Lutz

Thanks for the help, my feedback:

    • indeed if i change my SAP Logon entry (or in my case create a new one) to not have that 'SNC Logon' flag and use that connection in BEx or AO, i can log on with my test users as desired.

    > this is the solution

    • the trick with setting the same password for both users does not work (he will still stay password incorrect and if i later logon in the backend with the test user he says '1 incorrect logon')

    • Using RRMX & RAAOE also doesn't work: i logged in in the BW backend via SAPLogon with the test user ZTESTAUTH1, and when using the transaction he connects to the BEx and AO resp., but it is still done with my own user FRANT, not the testuser. (it was not very clear in the tools that i was connected with FRANT, it only became apparent in the query statistics that i refrehed the queries with my own user....)

Full points for Stephan, since he was first :-)

    • So with RRMX and RAAOE there is one more SNC testcase SAP (and I) did not cover yet.

@Stephan Andre: Do you take care of the RMMX and RAAOE problems and take it to the developers? I would be very grateful if SAP would spare me from opening an SNC incident for these two components again. Last time was too painful.

      Thanks, Lutz
