Hi Experts,
I am facing very strange issue while installing SAP B1 9.1 on IBM SERVER M34 with windows server 2012 and SQL SERVER 2014, as installation goes on at one moment where common database start installing suddenly server restarts and then it needs to reinstall. Still unable complete installation due to restart problem tried lot of ways to install like reinstall server OS or upgrade server OS.
Anybody encounter such issue
Thanks,
Sanjog

Hi Nagarajan,
I raised support for IBM i thought it should be server hardware problem but IBM has cleared there is no hardware problem. While installing SQL Server it shows warning that it is not recommended to install SQL Server on domain controller. Is there any relation of server restart problem with installaiton of B1.
Thanks,
Sanjog.
Hi Sanjog,
That is very unusual.
Have you checked the Windows Event Viewer for any clues?

Thanks Nick for quick reply
I have checked Windows Event Viewer it shows Kernel-Power Event ID: 41 which is related power supply . The issue only appears when SAP B1 installation create common database at this moment server restarts and installation gets interrupted. I tried meany times but same result was there. should i raise support ticket to SAP.
Thanks,
Sanjog.
Hrmm, very strange Sanjog.
Could it be possible that the computer is going to sleep or some other power related setting is affecting it?
I have experienced poor performance when installing SAP on domain controller, but not a unexpected restart before.
It may be worth raising incident with SAP, making sure include the Event Viewer details and IBM's response.
Also as Nagarjan mentioned, make sure the PL being installed is supported for MS SQL Server 2014.
Also check the Platform/Hardware guides for compliance, if not checked already.
