ABAP Element Info: Current selection is not supported

Hi everyone,

since Eclipse Mars I'm facing the strange problem, that the Eclipse View ABAP Element Info does not show any informations. It only says "Current selection is not supported". With Eclipse Kepler it was working pretty fine. Does anyone hav a good idea about this?

Eclipse version: Mars.1 (Release 4.5.1)

ABAP Development Tools: Version 2.54.4

Backend: NW 7.40 SP 11

Best regards

Hello Stefan, try a new Workspace. I had the same Issue while using your installation with my current workspace. Using a new one helped me to get it work with MARS. Using the same "new" WS with MARS.1 it still works.

    Hi Stefan,

does Eclipse at least try to retrieve the required information?

Open the "ABAP Communication Log" and "Start Logging". When you set the cursor on a position you expect to get some information in the "ABAP Element Info" view, a request should be sent to the backend to retrieve the information you are looking for (new entry in the ABAP Communication Log").

If this doesn't happen, plesae let us know at which position in the source it doesn't work (just post a little code snippet). And please let us also know if a new workspace "solves" the problem.

    Regards, Felix
