Hi Friends,

Windows / BOBI 4.1 SP3 Patch 6

We are planning for starting the monitoring from CMC

May I know which are the critical services need to be monitored?

Any suggestions.. will be more helpful.

If you look at monitoring, most of them self explanatory. Which ever one you think is critical for your business, you can setup monitoring.

I would suggest server stop state is most critical one for CMS, or WEBI processing servers.

Do we require both Connection servers (32 and 64) services to be monitored?

Depending upon the type of universes and  / or database being used it will be essential to monitor both. UNX type universes are 64 bit in nature where as UNV type universes are 32-bit in nature. Hope that helps.

Simply, you can configure email notifications for failure of important schedules. This will help to get notified if any the critical schedules fail.

For watch list, if we set the caution and danger values, if we want to get the email alert or sms alert.. can we do it? If yes, please let me know the procedure step by step if possible.

The usual services being monitored are the CMS, IFRS, OFRS , Connection servers (32 and 64).

Other than the other 4 depending on the type of reporting being performed you can priortize the monitoring of the servers accordingly.
