Deploy SCA using SUM

Hello Experts,

I need to deploy "ADSSAP07_0-10009589.SCA" related to ADS (Adobe document service) in my JAVA environment. I have selected SUM tool to do so. But after selecting the option "Manual" other than stack xml. In the execution phase SUM tool is not detecting/Showing the downloaded .SCA file though it is loading at the initial phases.

SUM is throwing a error if I click continue option saying please "select the file", without displaying it. The folder has all permissions.

I have referred note 1641062 to get some information related to this but it was not that useful. Please help me if there is any other way I can do it or give me some suggestions.

I am using NW 7.3.

Best Regards,

Amarnath

Hello All,

I am bit confused with the SUM output screen. I am attaching the screens. Dose this mean I cannot deploy ADS component individually and for this do I need to upgrade the stack? Please advice.

Best Regards,

Amarnath.

Hello Ashutosh,

I did not find process.html file in SUM directory. I have checked in SUM/sdt/htdoc and SUM/abap/htdoc etc.

Please advice.

Best Regards,

Amarnath.

Dear Amarnath,

You will not able to deploy the ADSSAP SP7 directly by selecting the manual option

You  have generate a STACK.xml file to deploy the ADS.

Sorry , the file name is ProcessOverview.html.

Hello Ashutosh,

To generate stack xml system is selecting some default options as well. Currently we are in NW 7.31 SP 10. How can I generate xml to that particular component alone?

Best Regards,

Amarnath.

Dear Amarnath,

Single component update is not possible with SUM tool. You have to perform SPS upgrade.

You can give a try to apply the single component by using NWDI.

Kindly check the below sapnote

Dear Amarnath,

if you are increasing the SP level by selecting the manual option then SUM will not able to detect the support package. In this case you have to use stack xml file.

If you are increacing the patch level on the existing SP , then it will be deploy by the SUM tool using the manual option.

Hello Sriram,

Thanks for the note. I was referring to this Doc to configure ADS. But to deploy ADS related component we are using SUM rather than telnet.

Could you please help me with SUM tool. Is there any particular reason for SUM not showing up SCA files when we have selected manual directory option?

Best Regards,

Amarnath
