Hi Everyone,
How do we split BPC out of a BW+BPC System to a Standalone BPC System?
Currently we have a single system for both BW and BPC (BPC as Add-on to the BW System). We want to take BPC out of this system and create a new standalone BPC system which will run on Hana. The old System will continue to run for BW. The new System will run purely for BPC.
I understand that I will need to install a new BW with BPC system on Hana and then do some kind of export/import of the data models. Do the Release and Support Pack levels of both the systems have to be exactly identical while doing the export/import?
Can someone throw some more light?
Thanks!
Hi Bidwan,
The best would be to create a new BPC system with same SP levels with your existing BW/BPC, then use UJBR to backup then restore the Environment into the new BPC system.
Once that is done, you migrate to HANA, and update SP to the latest version.

In BPC How To ... Guides there is a guide for migration to HANA. Take a look at it; it describes different scenarios of migration including your's.
Existing and new BPC don't have to be on same SP for UJBR to work.
Main issue will be data feeds if now BPC is fed from BW. You'll have to develop something in the new BPC to be able to consume that data.
Everything else is very much straightforward.
