TDMS 4.0 refresh ECC & BW - SRM system refresh via database copy

Hi All,

A query :

We are planning a QA refresh using TDMS 4 (Time Slice & Shell Creation) on ECC and BW system but our SRM system will be refreshed using Database copy that too not sure if it will be done along with ECC & BW, so will there be any data discrepancy threat.

Also, would request you to help me understand the limitation of using TDMS, with Shell creations method over without shell creation data refresh.

Thanks

Hello,

TDMS shell creation ensures that all the repository objects including cross client data is consistent as per the source system.

Where as a TDMS copy, without shell creation would only copy the client dependent data with reduction to the receiver system and if there are any difference in the repository and cross client object then it would remain.

Regarding the consistency for copied SRM system , the best approach is to minimize the difference between the data is copied to the ECC / BW system and the corresponding SRM system.

There may be a delta data set missing in this scenario where the copies are not done simultaneously.

Thanks,
Rajesh
