How can we control creation of production order by restricting it for certain material type.

Hi,

In the SPRO go to below path of material status

in the material status create a new or change the in the one of the existing status make the following setting.

assign the above material status in the material master in work scheduling view in the field P-S matl status as shown below.

Once all the above settings are done, create a new production order and check. system will not allow to create production order.

1. Make sure that Work Scheduling view is not maintained for that Material.

2. You can remove work scheduling view for that Material Type in OMS2 Transaction.

hi Sun,

if the view is already created you can not block it. rather you create a material status and assign in to material . it can be the simplest way. tcode - OMS4

Hello Sun,

I see 2 ways to achieve this,

Approach 1:

Exclude the work scheduling view screen from the material type for which you do not production order to be created.

To create a production order work scheduling view is mandatory and this would take care of your requirement. As no one would be able to create workscheduling view for this material type, they cannot create production orders as well.

You can create a new screen sequence excluding work scheduling or use an existing screen sequence which does not have work scheduling view and assign it to your material type using OMT3E transaction.

The settings are in SPRO -> Logistics General -> Material Master

Approach 2:

Another way to restrict is by doing an enhancement via BADI, WORKORDER_UPDATE.
