CK40N with transfer control - still re-cost the internal components

Hi,

I'm running CK40n for a new material that use components that already have released costing from previous month/year.

I don't intend to "recost" them, that's why I run ck40n with transfer control as I'd like to use "current standard cost estimate" (as it's determined in customization of "transfer control").

In spite of using transfer control, ck40n run "brings" all components during "structure explosion"stage and make costing for them (even when I don't mark "always recost material" in selection stage)  and marking and release.

So, besides costing of a new product, I perform costing for all it's components as well.

Why it's happen if I use transfer control that should prevent it?

Best regards, Maria

Try to run the costing using t-code CK11N and also in the valuation variant the strategy for material components set "standard price" as first priority.

Hi Maria,

the setting of 'Periods' or 'Fiscal Year' in the transfer control seems to be incorrect.
Please take a look at note 1258470 which explains how to customize this.

Hi,

I looke at note 1258470

The strategy that we use in transfer control is "Current std cost estimate" and "Fiscal Year" is marked. Period is blank.

We use this strategy quite a long time and we didn't experience this problem before.

I tried to remove "Fiscal year" and put "999" in periods, and it's not working:

- if it's existing item and I try to cost it, with transfer control - it is not selected to the run.

- if it's item that don't have std cost in previous period, it is costed together with all components

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you and Regards

Maria

Hi Maria,

the point is that a transfer strategy with "Fiscal Year" set to "X" only searches for cost estimates in that fiscal year, i.e. if you create cost estimates for 01/2016 then only cost estimates of 2016 will be be considered by transfer control. This is a common setting for companies that run standard cost estimates once a year - in the new year all materials need to be costed again.

When you set "Periods" to "999" then also cost estimates of previous years will be considered.

There is one important point in CK40N:
In the selection step you should mark the setting "Always Recost Material". Otherwise the transfer control will also be used in the selection step - and some materials will be missing...

Best regards,
  Johannes
